What We Believe

We believe that the Bible is the infallible and unchanging Word of God, and that salvation is granted by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, God’s Son.  Jesus came to destroy sin and death, and for our sin He died. 

God showed His power over sin and death by raising Jesus from the dead.  Triumph over sin required Jesus to die for it, and triumph over sin requires us to die to it. 

We participate in this death to sin by being buried with Him through baptism.  We rise joining in His triumph as we become new creatures in Him.  Through Him alone we have access to God, our Father. 

We preach the whole counsel of truth according to Scripture for the salvation of souls and the sanctification of saints.  We know in these latter times the gospel will become watered down and people will have difficulty finding the truth preached. 

The reason many have come to Calvary Baptist is because we are faithful to the Word in our teaching as we desire to please God, not man.  We preach God’s uncompromising truth to those who are “hungering and thirsting after righteousness,” and many who belong to our church are being filled. 

The Lord is alive at Calvary Baptist, and we are alive in Him.
