Special Ministries
Calvary Baptist believes in reaching out into the community and to the world to help those in need.

 

  
MISSIONS

Scripture tells us in II Corinthians 9:6-15  that he that sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and he that sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.  We know that God blesses those who take the news of His Word throughout the world and it is our desire to share in the blessing by both praying and financially supporting our thirty-plus missionaries around the world. 

 

BUS MINISTRY

There are those who would not be able to attend church without the assistance of our bus ministry. We cover a standard route that picks up people from Sharpsburg, Etna, Millvale, Shaler, and Allison Park. On Saturday, we visit current riders and are always recruiting new ones. We transport people to Sunday School who also stay for worship services, and we pick up souls for Wednesday evening services as well. Entire families, teens, children, and special education adults are all riders in this ministry.

 
NURSING HOME MINISTRY

We minister to the disabled, elderly, and lonely at ten local nursing homes. Our church volunteers and the nursing home residents enjoy a special time of fellowship, singing, and prayers. This is an enriching ministry for those involved who provide comfort and hope through the teaching of the Word of God to those who are not able to come to church. Many nursing home residents have come to the Lord as a result of learning more about God’s Word and His desire for their salvation.

 
GEMS & JEWELS

People with special needs are welcomed and encouraged to attend our church. We have special Bible classes designed to teach special-needs adults God’s Word in a way they can grasp and understand it.
